Description
In EOS there are 6 main components. One of the most important is the Process Component.
The gist of it is that the most critical 20% of your processes should be known and followed by all.
Many issues across any business can be traced back to lack of clarity about how work gets done.
This Ability is intended to operationalize the clarity about how work gets done.
Themes of the Milestones
Milestone 1 = The What
Ideally everyone in the company could be considered Milestone 1. These are the most critical processes that have to be followed by all.
Milestone 2 = The How
All of Product needs to be at Milestone 2, but the only non-product teammates that need this level of knowledge are those either very interested or directly impacted by the inner-workings of Product. Tier II, directors of client-facing teams, some folks in ops or implementation... these are the folks likely to try and understand the How.
Milestone 3 = The Why
All of Product could benefit from being at Milestone 3, but it is only required for some. This Milestone will focus in on the reasoning why we do what we do. Those who wish to effect change on how we work or to activate the autonomy given to how squads can work differently, must be at this Milestone.
